Mikhail Khodorkovsky has written to the editor of Rossiiskaya Gazeta, and requested that "misleading information" in an interview with Alexey Anichin, head of the Russian Interior Ministry Investigative Committee, be corrected.

In an interview with the newspaper Anichin said: "Khodorkovsky was using a scheme, under which they set up companies abroad, to then sell oil at low prices." He added: "All payments in Russia were based on those prices."

Khodorkovsky responded to "the absurdity of the accusation". He said: "I am accused of selling oil from YUKOS oil extracting enterprises to YUKOS itself, but in fact [according to the accusation] I was stealing it somehow."
